STMicroelectronics brings a wider motion detection on mobile phones
STMicroelectronics has introduced a new analog gyroscope, for example, by the use of a mobile phone would allow three-dimensional gesture recognition. This is a compact, accurate and packed in one container gyroscope that measures the rotation angle of the three mutually perpendicular to the axis.
The company boasts of particular detectors have the resolution and compact size, which makes it ideal for mobile phones, game controllers, navigators, and other consumer electronics products. In addition, ST's gyroscope structure is solid and durable. The sensor manufacturing process is familiar to the company's accelerometers, which has provided the market for over 600 million units.
"In 2003, ST was the first to launch a three-axis platinum acceleration sensor in a single package," said Benedetto Vigna President and CEO of the company, and continued, "Now we have the first three-axis analog gyroscope with. "
A full 360 degrees of the angle of rotation measuring sensor provides the most benefit when it is harnessed for modern acceleration sensor. This makes it possible to create devices which are able to tell, say, a human shape or the vehicle platinum movement, speed and direction.
STMicroelectronics gyroscope with a new model known as the LYPR540AH. The company will begin its mass production in the first quarter of 2010, but says the samples to be already available. ST's new sensor accumulates cost $ 3.6 10, 000 batches.
